Eyebrow brush

One object i use daily is my eyebrow brush. we've been together for many, many years now and would both suffer if we ever fell apart. This eyebrow brush has definitely affected my life for the better. Once we met, my brows became shapely and tamed. With this brush, smooth arches can be achieved, scraggley hairs eliminated, and confidence escalated. If I don't do anything to get ready some morning, no makeup, no cute clothes, nada, you can bet i used my eyebrow brush...that's how effective it is! I would definitely change as a person without it because my eyebrows would be untamed, rebellious, savage-like and all over the place...i would turn into a witch doctor!!!! some days i may not need to use it but i still do just to be sure. sometimes you can use the brow brush to comb all your eyebrow hairs upward and it looks really cool/weird/funny/interesting/scary but it's definitely a good laugh, and can cheer others up instantly! i feel like i'm trying to sell this eyebrow brush like the infomercials we did today...hmmmm...iiiinnnnnterrrestingggg. Tired of unruly eyebrows? now with the brow buster brush 3000 you can always achieve the arch you desire. meowmaoowww owww!!!!!!!!!

ART SHOW REVIEW 3/29

I went to the UCSB honors art show last night on campus in the red barn/ old gym gallery. It is called Whenever You Are, We Are Already Then. The title of this show really struck me because I think it directly relates to Kip's lecture on Monday, as well as to the short French film we watched in section yesterday. Basically the concept is that all things that happen have already happened. They may be slightly different, but they have happened infinite times in the past and will happen infinite times in the future. Two artists, Raphael Lehrer and Michael Powell, did a piece called Palette and another piece called Thou Shalt Not Worship. Again, these two pieces reminded me of the pun project we are assigned to do for tomorrow. The former sculpture was literally a bunch of cargo-shipping palettes stacked on top of one another, some painted different colors...a palette, like a paint palette, but moving palettes...get it? The latter sculpture is a palette mounted into the corner of two walls, painted metallic gold. I liked it as it was but once I read the title Thou Shalt Not Worship i cracked up because it seems to me that people in the world will worship literally anything these days if they are told to. Funny. All of the other ones are really cool too but i dont want to write all night! so i'm just going to list all the words that came to my mind when looking at another student's (Lillian Edwards) pen & ink pieces--> insects, silhouette, lilies, combs, puzzles, mushrooms, leaves, flowers, outer space, space ships, colonizing, colonies. Her drawings came from small things she found on the beach and magnified a ton until they became abstract images. Funny huh. Anything in the world no matter how realistic or concrete will become abstract if you really look into it. Get it?

Free For All Blog

Greetings...today is Wednesday, a free for all blog day. Today I woke up early, went to an Anthro section, took a break, went to an Anthro lecture, came home and got some sun, went to the doctor, came back and got more sun!!!! Basically, it is spring quarter and spring fever is in the air!!!!! You can't be unhappy when it's 5:41 pm on a late March day and it's 74 degrees out with a slight 8mph occasional breeze and a sunset nearly 2 hours away and people are laying out in bikinis and swimtrunks, gettin their color on...I must say despite the fuckton of work there is to do, life's not bad. Not everyone can decide "hey, I want to go to the beach" and be there in under 2 minutes. No, our life is just a dream for them. I just decided that hey, when i'm done with this bloggin, i am going to the beach. Maybe for sunset, maybe for just 5 minutes, maybe all night, whatever I want because I am living the dream here in Santa Barbara. I'm not saying it is my dream I'm living, because it's not, but for many people it is so I guess we should all live it for those who never will!!!! That sounds fucked up, but i mean it in a good way...this is a weird post haha.

Second Post of My Entire Life re: Concerns & Fears Regarding 7a

Hmmm...So. Now I have to talk about my apprehensions about taking ART 7a at UCSB. Well, let's see...At first, I was pretty much only worried about crashing and getting into the class (which I so desperately need for my major). But, seeing as how that worked out, I am now nervous about the amount of work for the class. First of all, I did not know it is 5 units...although this is good, it is also scary because 5 units DO NOT MESS. Nuh-uh. You have to earrrn those 5 units, break your back for them! The blog journal post things really freaked me out at first. 1) because there are so many 2) because I might forget 3) I rarely use my computer 4) I hate technology. BUT Have to control these fears so I have decided that yes there are so many but the class is 5 units; if I forget it's my fault and I'll have to take the blame (or hopefully make it up somehow...this post is already late); I guess I can use my computer a little bit more, I do have one after all; and lastly, I really need to overcome my hate of technology, which spawns from my fear/inability to use technology. Basically I need to catch up sooner and not later because, I'll tell you, everything involves, revolves, and utilizes technology these days -can't catch a break from it! And honestly, it's about time I learn

First Blog of My Entire Life

So this is the very first blog I have ever written in my 2 decades and some months of living. It is supposed to be about Kip Fulbeck's lecture on Monday the 28, 2011 - aka the first day of spring quarter!!!! In Kip's lecture we learned about reaching an audience and conveying something/a meaning. He showed us some youtube clips as well as some photographs. In life, whether or not we know it, we are consistently recreating images from the past. I personally have often thought when I'm doing certain things that some one else has done it some time, some where. Perhaps a billion people have done it...or perhaps only 2 other people...OR maybe someone else is doing the same exact thing at the same exact time. BUT perhaps it is in a different time zone or a different situation. No matter how weird, gross, awesome, exciting, unusual, (any adjective) whatever I am doing (in the particular moment when this concept crosses my mind), some one else will have done already. Although the images in lecture may not be exactly what I've done, they are perfect illustrations of the reoccurring of actions throughout earth's history. Take Rosie the Riveteer poster, for example. The same image of a woman flexing her arm in the same position is depicted in "Un Chien Andalou," the French short film from 1929 when the woman is threatening to hit the man-turned-zombie with the telephone that she took off the wall. This is just one example and I could go on for hours, but seeing as I have another blog to post and have yet to email Desiree - I better get a move on!
